Deborah Parks had a lifelong love for vintage clothing. But it wasn’t until she was helping a friend pick out second hand clothing for charity that she realized she could turn a hobby into a business. Having just left a career in HR without the means or funds to start up a new business, Debbie applied for a self-employment program with the government and started Vintage Vibes Boutique, first selling her wares at clothing shows and flea markets, then as a shop in 2012.
From white ruffled petticoat skirts and fascinators to chunky clip-on earnings and some truly fancy footwear, this vintage (and vintage-inspired) clothing shop in Riverside is everything playful and pretty. Since it’s located at the back of a massive antique furniture store, Vintage Vibes Boutique is easily missed by Queen Street East shoppers, so keep your eyes peeled – it’s definitely worth a visit.
