I'm from out of town and was treating some friends. They were suitably impressed and were very pleased with their meal. The service was very good. I would probably be a regular here if it wasn't an hour and a half from where I live.
Food tasted excellent and decent presentation BUT terrible, terrible service they substituted salmon for the halibut - no apologies no nothing. didnt bring any bread either - all other tables received bread. would have asked about the substitution but server disappeared for half an hour. Ate it anyways. When server finally came they acted shocked and surprised - doubted we could even tell the difference between salmon and halibut. Then she came back and said they were sold out of halibut. agreed to take $2 off the bill. on the way out they had erased the pasta special from the board but the halibut was still there. the food tasted good but the service left a lot to be desired.
Our reservation was for 6:30 finally received our food at 8 p.m. Rice was cold, steak underdone on one order, pasta instead of potato on another, chicken cordon blue was unlike any other (breaded chicken breast with slice of ham, slice of cheese and mushroom sauce on top). We were getting ready to leave when told they were short staffed and would we like complimentary dessert. Didn't stay as had 80th birthday cake at home.....was not a pleasant experience for my mother's milestone birthday.
