Thus, socializing and public speaking were not my forte, but dancing instruction helped me gain the skills I needed to use the talents I have and apply myself in a more directive management environment. Through the patience of my teachers and the wonderful people I have met, I have had the opportunity to develop rhythm and learn non-verbal cues of communication to help me lead and dance with esteem. Pushing myself to go outside my comfort zone and socialize during group experience has had a phenomenal impact on my career and life! I smile more as I move around more rhythmically, I participate more confidently in social environments and I even stand taller. Physically, I feel more vibrant and emotionally I am more stable and confident in myself!! A wide variety of dances are taught and practiced. The instructors are knowledgeable and well able to impart their knowledge. The atmosphere is friendly. The manager knows the many guests by name. No membership is required. In order to attend you should have a sense of musical rhythm and the ability to move gracefully. Also a pair of dance shoes, which may be bought on the premises. There are dance lessons and dance parties, notably on Fridays and Saturdays. The price of admission is reasonable. Individual instruction is available by prior arrangement. Personally I am enjoying retirement much more, now that I have taken up dancing as my recreation, although I am a slow learner. The management has gone out of its way to accommodate my special needs.
