Honored to represent Shoppers Drug Mart at the Empire Club of Canada last week for a vital discussion on women's health: "From Menstruation to Menopause: A New Look at Women's Health."Thank you to panelists Karli Farrow (Trillium Health), Joanna Griffiths (Knix), Dr. Wendy Wolfman (Mount Sinai Hospital) and Liza Vityuk (McKinsey & Company) for sharing their expertise on menopause care gaps, and to Teri Hart for guiding the conversation. At Shoppers Drug Mart, we believe all women deserve equitable and accessible care. Shoppers pharmacies and pharmacy clinics are giving patients more ways to access primary healthcare, including women's health, offering supports for menopause, birth control, and UTIs in some jurisdictions. Beyond the pharmacy, Shoppers Foundation for Women's Health is investing $50 million by 2026 in vital research and community organizations so that all women in Canada can lead healthier lives. I'm particularly proud of our $70 million investment since 2022 to ensure more women and girls have access to the period products they need and deserve, and our $10 million donation to Manitoba's MMIW2S+ Healing and Empowerment Fund, providing healing programs and ongoing support to families affected by this national tragedy. Last week, some of our team members were able to visit the YWCA Hamilton to present a donation for $80,000 from Shoppers Foundation for Women's Health, as part of their 2024 Community Grants program. This funding will support the YWCA’s "Good Beginnings for Mom & Baby" program, focused on increasing reproductive health equity for pregnant individuals experiencing homelessness.

I was thrilled to be at the University of Ottawa today for the opening of the very first Shoppers Drug Mart Pharmacy Care Clinic on a university campus in Canada. This clinic offers students convenient, one-stop access to pharmacy services, including assessment and treatment of minor ailments, while also delivering valuable learning opportunities in a clinical setting for students at the School of Pharmaceutical Studies.   Thank you to the students and team at the University of Ottawa for sharing in the excitement of today’s event – as well as for your collaboration and shared commitment to the future of pharmacy.    ************************************************************** J'étais ravi d'assister aujourd'hui, à l'Université d'Ottawa, à l'ouverture de la toute première Clinique de soins en pharmacie de Shoppers Drug Mart sur un campus universitaire au pays. Cette clinique offre aux étudiants un accès pratique et centralisé aux services pharmaceutiques, y compris l'évaluation et le traitement des conditions mineures, tout en offrant de précieuses occasions d'apprentissage dans un cadre clinique aux étudiants de l'École des sciences pharmaceutiques.   Je remercie les étudiants et l'équipe de l'Université d'Ottawa pour leur accueil chaleureux et leur engagement commun envers l'avenir de la pharmacie.

We had the honour of participating in the Cross-Institutional IntraProfessional Event for Pharmacy & Pharmacy Technician Students hosted by Humber College. With over 400 students from across #Ontario in attendance, it was an incredible opportunity to connect with the next generation of pharmacy professionals!
