Gosh, the service at this place really sucks! Waited for over 30 minutes for food which is sub-standard. Definitely wouldn't recommend to anyone. Lots of other restaurants in the neighborhood that provide a better atmosphere, better food and much better service.
Restaurant Makeover ruined another Toronto establishment and the new owners brought the rest of the place down. Other than the trusty blonde - who has been serving us (me and my office colleagues) for years - the place it just not the same. The service is deplorable: Case in point we ordered ten plates by phone to go, arrive 30 minutes later only to find that we had to wait another hour for our order. The orders came and they messed up four out of the ten meals - we opened all the meals at the restaurant to ensure everything was in order. Then when we got back to the office we discovered a fifth meal they had screwed up. Next experience were the $15 nachos barely any cheese, hardly any topping, dry and not worth the time you have to wait. And the decor looks like a designer travelled from the eighties and threw up all over the bar. Pas de charm. We now go to another pub on King. Too bad.
I have been a regular for several years and have to say that I wasn't impressed with the changes after the makeover - it was changed into a bistro-like atmosphere. Then more changes came - and it made the atmosphere a bit worse in the sense that the new owners had their friends show up on Fridays to make it look busier than it actually was. Since the staff I'm so used to seeing as barely ever there anymore, I've gotten to vaguely know some of the new owners and they're quite friendly however it's not the same place I know as "The Rogue". Fellow regulars and I don't go there as often as we used to.
I used to be a regular at the Rogue but since the ownership change things have gone downhill quickly. Friday seems to be their busiest night and the new owners were doing all the service. Nothing like taking your best night away from the loyal staff. And it was terrible service to boot. The old staff (when you see them) are still fantastic but the new ownership has a thing or two to learn from them.
I've been going to the Rogue for a very long time and it has changed quite a bit. It no longer looks like a warm pub anymore...it looks and feels cold. Aside from the awesome staff who've been there forever....the food is still good but the new menu sucks. It's not pubby and warm at all. It is also expensive $14.95 for nachos is ridiculous. I miss the nightly specials $1.50 beef ribs, pork ribletts etc. I understand change but keep some of the old for those who are your bread and butter. I'm sad to have to change my local.
I went for the makeover party. Had a great time and the vibe of the new place was pumping. This is a fun, friendly place. The food is pretty darn good too.
Been there dozens of times. Great food! Great staff! A real gem in the neighbourhood.
This place is awesome. The chicken wings are the best I've ever had. Perfect amount of sauce. The skins are incredible. I love that they put BBQ sauce on them. Totally unique!! The staff are great and I love the look of the place. Highly recommend it.
The fish was awesome - not the traditional cheese ball shape, but rather like a steak. Halibut..you can't go wrong there. The fries are good and homemade at best. The beer was beer. The service was good pub service. It's a neighbourhood pub, so don't expect the four seasons. Come hang out and enjoy the friendly atmosphere.
Taco salad is unique. It's delicious with a blue cheese dressing. I can't say that anything on the menu was low fat though (not that I'm worried) I didn't try my friends food, but she loved it and thought the portion was a little too generous.Live and study in the area and would definitely come back again. Want to try out the brunch if I can get around to it. I'm told it's featured on the makeover show.
Mike B must work there. I went with my pal and the sports blond server had vibes hard to digest for our good time. Although I've worked as a waitress before so I know what a bad day is, so I'm reluctant to judge. I heard about there buffolo wings and was not impressed, I could have drank them ,not ate them waaay too much sauce.
I believe since their 'makeover' that Richmond Rogue has changed chefs. Either that, or he's on a mission to destroy their reputation in the neighborhood. Food is consistently burnt, inconsistent yet lukewarm. How do you mess up potato skins - yet they did. Buffalo chicken fingers, a remarkably small portion for the price, have been burnt to the point of returning to the kitchen - whether for eat in or take out. When they are brought back, burnt again. What a shame - they had a good thing going.
This is one of my favourite places. Not only are the staff fantastic (especially the little blond girl) but the food is amazing.
Had an amazing time. Food was amazing - especially the Rogue Chicken. The staff are super-friendly and the place looks awesome. This place is a MUST!
The server blond hair sports/esq was a mean person food sucked (accept pizza) beer was good. What can I say it was an accident.
