Meet the owner

“I’ve been passionate about fitness and training for my entire life,” says Jaime Hebert, founder and co-owner of Exist Fitness. “I started as a competitive gymnast when I was five, competing until the age of 17. I was involved in all sports throughout high school. So, as my children got older and I started thinking about heading back to work, I figured I would do what I love.”

In 2008, Jaime began personally training clients from her walk-in basement in Sherwood Park. She hosted boot camps, outdoor training and personal training until 2013, when she partnered up with Shelly Hemmerling to open Exist Fitness, a full training studio, and Exist Cycle, the spin and cycle side of the business.

“With personal training, clients can see results fast, but it is not affordable for some people,” Jaime says. “So I started the boot camps because I still wanted to help people live a fit and active lifestyle. With about 6 to 10 people in each group, it knocks down the cost at the sacrifice of the one-on-one aspect.”

When it comes to spin, Sherwood Park is ahead of the curve, largely thanks to Exist Cycle. This state-of-the-art facility offers quite the menu of options, ranging from yin and candlelit classes to higher intensity classes with a live DJ. At Exist Cycle, the main focus is on triathlon training — however, their beginner classes ensure something for everyone.
